Did anyone take a little break between IUI and IVF?

Was there anything in between you did to relax, or get yourself ready mentally/physically? I’ve been looking into some traditional Chinese medicine practices, and will literally try anything at this point 😅

Im in the process of my first IUI. I have my ivf consultation scheduled for august 28th, so if the cycles of iui does not work before our appointment, then we'll be junping right into IVF. I am doing yoga and my husband and I decided we were going to start going to the gym. I heard that traditional chinesr medicine is very good as well as acupuncture

I’ve tried acupuncture but I’m too afraid of needles. However, my husband and I decided to go back to the gym, change our life style (no more Uber eats, soda, weed and alcohol) and walk every day I’m in a one-month pause between my IUIs and it’s helping me a lot to just relax and have no expectations for 30 days

@Marina yes I totally agree we cut the same thing out and I have been making healthier meals. We were suppose to start ivf last year october with another clinic, but we felt rushed and not comfortable so we cancelled it. So we took a break from fertility treatments up until now. We were kind of doing the trying/not trying like if it happens it happens but now we are like its time to get back to the treatments and get the ball rolling

I didn’t take a break since I was already in my 30s and didn’t know how long it would take, but I feel like ivf gives you a natural break. You have to be on birth control for so long, start your cycle, and all of the prep before so it kind of felt like a break from the injections and procedures. At the same time, kept me on a routine (which I like, but understand some wouldn’t).

I had 3 failed IUIs and took a 6 month break. I knew I needed a break mentally and time to refocus on my body. I started fertility acupuncture and did that for 3-4 months before we started the IVF process. I also focused on eating better (lots of water, limited caffeine, and lots of leafy greens) and was exercising more. I continued acupuncture until I was 6 weeks pregnant (I had hyperemesis and couldn’t go anymore). I also did acupuncture on day of transfer, ate pineapple core within 3 days of transfer, and McDonald’s fries after transfer. I had a successful pregnancy after our first round of IVF and I truly believe acupuncture helped my body as well as diet and exercise. For acupuncture they do recommend at least 3 months before IVF if you wanted to go that route. Hang in there! It’s such a difficult and stressful process. Sending you lots of baby dust your way!

I had 3 failed IUIs and took a 2 month break. I went to a wellness center that did a rigorous bloodwork and they came up with a vitamin plan for where my levels were low. Now I’m prepping for my first IVF cycle
