Itching while using cyclogest progesterone

Has anyone else experienced itching down below while taking cyclogest progesterone pessaries? It's driving me crazy! I missed a dose last night because it was that bad but I'm scared of miscarring again if I don't continue. I can't call my GP or EPU as they are closed weekends. Did anyone else have this and be prescribed an alternative?

Hiya I’m currently on cyclogest too. I had the itching one day, don’t itch as makes it worse, I found it best if I put the pessary in 1hr before bed, try to lay down in bed or on the sofa, then go a wee before bed, wear a panty liner all the time too. Then in the mornings try to get up 30 mins earlier put the pessary in, if you have time to get back in bed then do, but then go a wee an hour later. I don’t know why but I found it better making sure I had been a wee and found it worse if I left it in all night. Also when I go and wee I really make sure I wipe any residue away. Try to shower twice a day also to get rid of any as it can be quite messy. Also try to make sure you push the pessary up as far as you can! Hope this helps a bit x

@Alice thank you for the advice I will give it a go tonight, I can't bare the itching anymore 😭

I’ve been putting mine in rectally and had no itching

@Sam I've done it both ways to check which one was the easiest but Its made me very itchy and uncomfortable it's been a nightmare

The pessaries increase risk of yeast infection. Maybe get that checked? Mine hasnt itched. You can also switch to using rectally

I switched to Utrogestam just because it made me less tired

I’ve been using cyclogest for years now (7 rounds of ivf then all the way through the pregnancy of my babe and now again)… always, always go back passage. Less messy and 0 chance of getting thrush!
