Sperm DNA fragmentation

Most likely a test we will do after the results from this cycle, so I’m curious to hear any experience with not good results and what you all did about it and if successful? I’ve heard of workarounds like doing PICSI/Zymot, timing of ejaculation, and even TESE. Anyone with experience here who could share their knowledge?

Hey, we had high DNA fragmentation and the doctor recommended quitting alcohol and coffee for my husband for 3 months before giving a sample. Also, healthy diet and supplements based on antioxidants. It worked as his DNA test came back significantly lower. Zymot is good but it didn’t work for us before he actually made those changes. Good luck to you both ❤️

@Anni how high was the dna fragmentation?

Thanks Anni! And did he quit completely or limit to a number of drinks a week?

@Sonia well we tested in Spain where they focus on double stranded DNA fragmentation. So they want to see that one below 60% and he had 70 I think. We brought that down to below 60%. Single stranded was normal (below 15% I think). But I know it depends on the country and most clinics are testing only for single stranded one, but if it’s elevated then it means it needs to be corrected as well

@Carmen he was asked to quit completely for 3 months
