Olivia and Olive

My daughter is called Olivia and we’ve just found out we’re having another little girl! I love the name Olive would it be weird to name her that when her sister is called Olivia?😂 it’s the only name me and my partner both like 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

What about other O names such as Ottitilie, Orla, Opal, Ophelia

@Aimee I love ottitillie but my partner doesn’t 😢 gunna have to keep looking until we find something we both like again!😂x

My husband really wants Nell, but we already have a daughter named Elle and a niece called Nellie! Personally I've said its too much as much as I love the name x

I think they are too close personally (obviously it doesn’t matter as long as you like it) but when they go to school their names will be shortened and you will have two livs potentially x

Yeh I think having olive and Olivia would be strange tbh! 🫒 both lovely names though

@Josie that’s very true! Although I hate the name liv 🫣😂x

@Elle I love both names! My daughter Olivia was nearly called Olive it was our two name choices 😂 but I think I’m going to have to rethink for another name 😢😂

@Becky you won’t be able to control it unfortunately, I loved the name Maeve but hated Mae (a weird relative of mine was Mae and didn’t want people thinking we name her after her) and the minute o thought that I took it off the list and that was the only girls name we had for this baby 😂 x

@Becky unfortunately, I agree with others - Olivia and Olive seem a bit too similar although both are lovely! 🫣 maybe it would be easier to pick a name for your second daughter based on the pet name you use for Olivia? For example, assuming you use Ollie (since you said you hated Liv), you could pick a name which shortens to Allie 👯‍♀️ Personally I love Alora, but there are plenty - Allison, Rosalie, Alice, Allegra etc. Hope that helps!
