Hayfever

Can anyone recommend a hayfever tablet I can take while pregnant? I’m only in the first trimester but my hayfever is absolutely horrendous at the moment and can’t contact the drs with it being a bank holiday

@Estera Aw brilliant Thankyou I’ll double check the box of the ones I have x

I suffered so badly last year and when I contacted the drs I was given mixed advice. They said that they believe loratadine to be safe but they haven’t been specifically tested on pregnant women so they can’t say for sure. I was also told that it is safer to take them before 30 weeks but no idea why. Thankfully my hayfever had eased by then anyway. I ended up taking them when I was desperate but didn’t take them every day like I do every other year, but I’m sure it would’ve been fine!

I used loratadine. I’m sure it does say on the box not to take while pregnant but my doctor told me it was fine to take x

I think the only thing I was told I could have was a nasel spray beconase, ask the pharmacy x

I suffered bad pet allergies whilst pregnant. I had citrazine tablets in the house already. My GP said its okay to take and to be honest there's just not enough research been done on pregnant women and allergy tablets due to it being classed as something not major to fund (which i found crazy) so that's why most, if not all tablets say not safe to take or ask your GP. My GP said, yes there's next to no research but pregnant women take allergy tablets all the time and there's also no data to suggest it's affected a pregnancy
