Exercise confusion

Hi, I've read that only gentle exercise is a must while having ivf treatment, however does anyone know if this is just when the injections start or does it include the (2 weeks for me) norethisterone pills beforehand? I start my pill this Sunday but I've got a few things I desperately need to do like mowing the garden and going to the tip. Does anyone know?

I think you’re fine during the birth control part because you haven’t grown follicles yet. They don’t want you to exercise once you have multiple follicles growing

@Makayla I did wonder but noone has actually told me anything about exercise. It's only what I've been reading. I'm not even sure if we are allowed to have sex either. They did say to use a condom but never told me if or when we need to stop.

In the downregulation phase, exercise shouldn’t be an issue. It’s only once you get to the stims phase, and your ovaries become more swollen, that your risk of ovarian torsion goes up. Even then, super gentle exercise is still fine, just try to avoid any twisting, bending or inversions. And yes, you can still have sex, but definitely use condoms.

@Sharon thankyou. Its hard to slow down being so active haha.

I work with horses so my job is extremely physical. The only time I was told to restrict exercise was post egg retrieval and for 2-3 days afterwards. I still did my job throughout it all but had the day of retrieval off. Also you can have sex all the way through but we were told no sex for 3 days after retrieval.

I didn’t exercise during stims ( I do weights with strength training & yoga) as there is a risk of ovarian torsion as the follicles grow and it is not worth it . My recovery after egg collection was rough, and I took my time , resumed exercise 2 weeks after. After transfer , just light walks and no other exercise . Look after yourself and listen to your body. All the best xx
