Nexplanon made me mentally ill after my first child I had to have it removed after 10 months and ended up pregnant again within 4 weeks of it removed and now I have 2 under 2 š¤£š (I have also had nexplanon several years before I had my children and it made me mentally ill then too but I didnāt realise it was the implant until I had it again and it did the same thing again) Iām getting the copper coil with no hormones in. Also the removal of the implant is awful it got stuck in my arm both times I had it because of tissue growth around it. My sister had the coil and she had it removed to have another baby and was pregnant within a month (just to give you some info on how quickly fertility can return with the coil too)
I first got the IUD when I was 13, and it did hurt a bit. It feels like period cramping in my opinion. Since I was so young they had to dilate me and that hurt quite a bit. I got mine replaced when I was 17 cuz of something I did that pulled it out lmao (donāt ask) but itās not that bad. If your partner does have a bigger āassetā they might feel poking of the little wire thing/strings. It might hurt too if you have really rough sex. I never personally had the nexplanon but one of my old best friends did. Hers moved out of place and they couldnāt get it out normally so they had to do a small surgery to cut her arm open.
Nexplanon was the worst birth control I ever went on, I can't speak on Mirena never had it
Iāve had both - getting the mirena put in hurts like an absolute bitch, itās really really not pleasant at all. Getting it taken out was also horrible. The idea of it also really freaked me out and I could never relax when I had it in. My boobs totally disappeared too. Other than that I had no side effects, maybe some slight mood changes but nothing too bad. For me the worst thing was the idea that my partner would feel it during sex. The nexplanon is the only contraception Iāve ever got on with. Getting it in doesnāt hurt at all, itās really quick (Iāve had the nexplanon twice). Iāve never had any bad side effects, no mood swings, no weight gain, literally nothing at all. My implant has never moved and getting it taken out is also really quick and pain free. Iād say the nexplanon is the least invasive and easiest, plus if it does move itās probably not as bad as if the mirena accidentally dislodged and went into your uterus.
I've got nexplanon, had it 2 weeks ago. Doesn't hurt getting in but arm was sore for a day and bruised. I also had it 5/6 years ago and it worked great for the first 2 years but I had to have it out early due to side effects. I'm also planning another child in 2-3 years and couldn't bare the thought of the iud. I know a few people who got pregnant on it š
I had mirena 12 weeks pp and it perforated my uterus. Had to get a surgery to get it removed.apparently perforation has been shown to be more common in breastfeeding women. I would never ever recommend mirena.
