Mini pill and bleeding

Hi girls! I’m just wondering if anyone else here has gone back on the mini-pill postpartum and found that it’s making them bleed?! I’ve always been on Cerazette (Desogestrel) for years and years before my baby boy and didn’t use to get any periods at all!! The occasional breakthrough bleed if I was a little late taking it. Since re-starting last week, 1 day before my period was due, I’ve been constant bleeding! It’s made me so frustrated as I was fully expecting to go back to no periods 🙈. On the side effects it lists either no periods, irregular bleeding or constant bleeding but I’m honestly feeling p*ssed about it 😅😂, anyone else in the same boat or had experience with this??! I’ve been on for 6 weeks or so now and haven’t bled but I am BF too. I think they say to give it at least a month to settle, it obviously takes a week to get in your system so imagine you’re just having a long period and then you’ll be fine 😊

Not taken cerazette for years but I had to stop taking it as it made me bleed loads. In fact all the mini pills I tried did, apart from one but just before I got pregnant that had also started doing it. I can’t take the combined due to migraines and the mini was just not worth it in the end with the constant bleeding. I’ve had the implant for 2 months now and only had one light period, a few days of spotting here and there but nothing like when I was on the mini pill. It may settle down as your cycle and hormones are all over the place still so I’d probably give it a bit longer to see if it settles, it is very frustrating though! Xx

This has been the same as me! I was on rigevidon (not sure how to spell it 😂) before being pregnant and they put me on cerazette after pregnancy as my blood pressure was high because of pregnancy. I thought oh Brill I won't have a period but oh no, I now bleed for a good 2 weeks as apposed to 1 week before having a baby and the gaps in between are shorter I'm hoping that once I'm off my blood pressure tablets they will let me go back on to the other one cause I hate this!!!!

@Aimee I’m EBF too but my period returned around 10w pp! I was shocked and upset as I’d read how usually periods are delayed coming back when BF, apparently not for me 🙈. Yes, thank you, I’m gonna give it a little while and hope with everything the bleeding stops! 🤞🏻 xx

@Zoe how strange! Not that I’m glad you’re in the same boat as it’s rubbish!! But kinda nice to know it isn’t just me suffering with this! 🥴. I’m just wound up as like I say I never had periods on it before and it was blissful 😂. Fingers crossed for us both that the bleeding stops or sorts itself out! 🤞🏻 xx

I’ve just started on Cerazette! 2nd day! my period came 2 days ago and I started it then, I’m bleeding so much all ready 😂😂 I hope it gets better for you!!!

I was on it for nearly 2 months and gave up with it as I was spotting constantly! Having the copper coil fitted in a month (😬 never had the coil before!) X

We say to give it 6 months to regulate. At 6 months it's likely that whatever bleeding pattern you have will continue.
