First cycle after stopping pill

Can the first cycle after stopping the pill be long? I'm on CD30 and negative tests and no sign of AF either, no idea how long my cycles are so nothing to go off which is frustrating :(

Yep it takes a while for your body to regulate when you come off of hormonal contraception. I haven't used the pill for years but when I came off it I ended up going to the doctor's because I didn't have a period for over 3 months, they said it was normal.

Ahh I see so does that mean I won't be ovulating then either? X

Probably not as you get your period 14 days after you ovulate, but I have pcos which is probably why it took so long for my cycles to get back to normal, hopefully it won't be so long for you! You won't know when you're going to ovulate so you could ovulation test (but that might get through a lot of tests) or use another indicator like cervical mucus.

When I came off the pill a couple of years ago in October I didn’t get my period back until January. Sounds completely normal what you’re experiencing.

It’s normal for it to take a while, your body is getting used to the change in hormones. However, I too was waiting for a period that never came. I did ovulate and fall pregnant before my first period after stopping the pill.
