BMI for fertility coverage

Hi all We are seeking fertility coverage by NHS but just started the process and I was concerned about my BMI which is 28. Does BMI play a factor in whether or not NHS will cover treatments??

I had ivf on the nhs and both me and my partner had to be under a certain BMI to qualify. I can’t remember what it was though. My partner was slightly over and they just told him to try and lose a little weight but they never checked his weight any time after that xx

Thanks for the info @Amy

No problem. Feel free to message me if you have any other questions xx

I think it needs to be 30 or under. My last one fell 29.8. Dreading if my 3rd fails, I'll 100% be over 30 this time

I believe the nhs requirement is below 30. Could be worth checking if there are any different requirements in your local area though

NHS is below 30, how many funded rounds you get depends on your postcode. Best of luck

I had to be below 30 but my husbands didnt matter, he was never weighed. I wore a summer dress with tights and literally stripped off everthing else inc shoes for my weigh ins. The taller you are the lower your bmi will work out, i was obsessing over my bmi honestly. Ive had ivf twice and been 1 of lucky few who it was worked for both times. We did ICSI and we used embryoscope for both (additional cost but worth looking into hun) Feel free to PM me x
