IUI advice

I have a 2 year old that I conceived without any fertility treatment, now I would like to have another child but I’m single so I’m hoping to do IUI in a few months. I suppose I’m just looking for any advice on helping my chances or any successes from the first try? I don’t have any fertility problems (unless something has changed), I do need to lose weight so I’m working on that. I keep reading the success rates are really low and I can probably only afford to do it once.. if I have to do it again it will take me quite some time to save the money and I’m already 35. I haven’t started the process at all yet but I can’t stop thinking about it 🤦🏻‍♀️

If I remember correctly your first IUI is a 25% chance and your second IUI is a 33% chance. I am in the opposite boat. We had to do IUI first and then with my second I got pregnant naturally.

Take your prenatal vits. Get your q10, folate, selenium, vit C,D,E etc. it’s good to work in egg ang sperm quality as early as possible so great to get going! You can even reduce plastic and chemical exposure (fragrances, cleaning stuff etc) to reduce DNA fragmentation. Have a research :)

Could you try to do the IUI without the fertility meds? It would be more cost effective that way. Since you were able to get pregnant naturally the first time? I had a few chemical pregnancies and then I did IUI, it was successful on the first try, but I used fertility meds for about 10 days before insemination and at our 7 week appointment we were pregnant with triplets, however at our 9 week 2 of the babies didn’t make it. I think if you already have healthy eggs maybe there is a more cost effective option.

@Erin thank you, I will see what they suggest when I go for the consultation.. I just want to give it the best chance possible so I thought the meds would increase the chances just in case.. really hoping it only takes one try 🤞

They will do your AMH and AFC and tell you if you need drugs to stimulate your ovaries. If your cycles are regular and your numbers are good IUI might be enough with donor sperm without having to stimulate your side of things. Let us know how it goes xx

@Holly my friend did donor sperm and has a beautiful little boy. Congratulations! And with those tattoos, don’t forget your pregnancy shoot! 😍
