Insomnia

For the last 8 years I have suffered with insomnia. I fall asleep fine but wake nearly every night between 3-4am. Literally where my brain is screaming at me to get up. So for years I have just got up and started my day at this time. This lead me to extreme tiredness in the day and distribution to any fitness regime. I tried most things to help me sleep bar sleeping tablets. I didn't want to go down the drug route! I visited specialist menopause doctor this year she listened and asked me to try ashwaghanda x 2 1000mg and magnesium citrate x1 500mg before I go to bed. Its been a game changer for me. I now sleep like a normal person. I have more energy in the day and can exercise. Apparently when we wake at this time its our gut waking us as its inflamed as well as hormonal I balance. Knowing this info has helped me make better food choices and sleep better. I wanted to share as you don't have to suffer. There are ways to help with symptoms.

Get a constant glucose monitor to see if it is insuline resistance. Fitness regimes while not having proper sleep recovery lead to insomnia and insulin resistance. Over exercising exacerbates peri menopause symptoms.
