This is beautiful 🤍 how was the fibroid removal procedure?

So encouraging to hear! I’m currently 24 weeks pregnant and I have huge fibroids that have given me the most excruciating pain ever this pregnancy to the point I was on bedrest with Oxy :( I’m feeling amazing now but the doc isn’t sure baby will want to come out given I have a 5cm fibroid right along my birth canal. Yay. Did you have any like this that your OB thought might make a vaginal delivery more difficult? Doc is thinking I’m a candidate for c-section but only time will tell.

@Lotté It honestly wasn’t that bad. I remember walking to the operating room.. getting on the table and looking up at the lights. Next thing you know I woke up in the recovery room. I stayed overnight in the hospital for observation and for the first couple of days I was having abdominal pain but by Day 5 I was feeling much better! ☺️

@Alissa Congratulations! 🎉 None of my fibroids were near the birth canal/ cervix area. My entire pregnancy I was told C section was probably how I was going to deliver due to having fibroids in general but when I was in labor.. I was told that a vaginal birth would be safer so I pushed. I remember there was risk of cutting the fibroid since it was located where the c section incision would be. So you’re right.. only time will tell 😊 my baby girl moved right around my lowest fibroid.. my OB was shocked. When our babies are ready to come out.. they’ll find a way!!

@K.C what kind of operation did you have - open or laparoscopic? I’m 6 weeks post section and have a 17cm fibroid at the back of my cervix and the doctors are suggesting an operation to cauterise the fibroid blood supply instead of another open surgery - I’d be reluctant to have them open my abdomen again as the recovery from the c section has been really rough 😞

@Melanie Open- I had a Myomectomy. I’m sorry you’re having a tough recovery. I learned quick how much these fibroids love a strong blood supply 😫 I went though fibroid degeneration.. omg it was CRAZY! Did your doctor say like the pros and cons of this instead of the surgery?

@K.C can I asked what happened after delivery? Did your fibroid shrink and was it painful? Also, did you take painkillers during the degeneration? I have a large 15cm fibroid and have been hospitalized twice. I’m 35 weeks but close to the end

@Stephanie after delivery my biggest fibroid grew bc it had a really good blood supply. It was on a stalk. Eventhough I already gave birth I felt like I had a brick in my belly. My back was hurting and I just felt really heavy. My uterus wasn’t shrinking back to pre pregnancy size so that’s when my doctor said I needed to have surgery. During degeneration they said I could take Tylenol but it didn’t work at all! Everyone used heating pad.. but for me an ice pack for a few seconds worked. It numbed that area for a bit. You’re so close!!! 🎉 I had to be induced at 37 weeks bc my baby was running out of room and they didn’t want her to get any bigger with 10 fibroids surrounding her. She was at risk of going into distress

Thank you for sharing your story about fibroids and giving birth. I have some and they’ve grown a lot during my pregnancy and it causes regular bleeding and pain. Ive been told my baby is at risk and I will probably need a c section. I am only 8 weeks and already grown to 7.5cm from 4cm. It’s good to know that you had a virginal birth to a healthy baby

@Ann Aww Congratulations 🎉 Yes from my very 1st appointment after my positive pregnancy test I was told I would more than likely need a C section and things definitely changed. I planned for both method of deliveries.. mentally and physically.
