@Kiki i was thinking something not crazy expensive because not everybody who i invite comes anyway and its most likely going to be outside so i was thinking something everybody (kids & adults) would enjoy. Last year we did One in a Melon and had a cookout and watermelon but because we were constantly grilling (it was an electric grill 🫠) or running up and downstairs to get more stuff it wasnt much enjoyable
@Blanca it is cute! what did you guys do for food?
Go for it! I think planned food is fun. I did fruit platter shaped as characters for my daughter first birthday. My suggestion is make is goofys sandwiches. You could do daisy desserts , Donald drinks.
@Alexis we did our party outside too. My family’s Jamaican so I just made rice & peas, jerk chicken, pasta and green salad and some fruit. We were also grilling all day so definitely didn’t get to enjoy the day either (and I prayed for a summer baby😂😂😂) This year we’re doing Elmo and I’m debating doing jerk chicken again even though everyone enjoyed it last year. But I’m doing party favour cookies again in the shapes of A & 2 since my daughter’s name starts with A
I did Minnie Mouse for my daughter’s first birthday because that’s what she was into. I didn’t do food according to the theme because I was already stressed about other things and theming everything in itself is stressful. But my best advice is to think about who you’re inviting and what they would eat. That’s what I did for my daughter’s first birthday and what I plan to do for all her birthdays. The only thing I theme is the party favor (last year I did cookies shaped like Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Mickey’s shoes)
