Confused about calculation of due dates

I’m constantly worried mine is too early :( Anyone else feels the same? Can we compare the following with each other: What’s your first day of last period? 6thMarch How many weeks currently? 31 Due date? 8th Dec Thanks. X

Hi there. So my first day of my last period was 4th March and my due date is the 10th Dec. Hope that helps my lovely x

The first day of my last period was 13th March and I’m 30+2 … my due date is 16th December x

First day of last period was 10th of March Due date is 17th December

I’m due the 8th of December too and I think it must be right cause I must have dell pregnant between 6-17 of march. I have pcos so I didn’t have my period for a couple of months before but I had intercourse in the 6th and 17th of march so it makes sense if it’s smth between that.

My LMP was 17th March and due date is 22nd December. I know I ovulated later than average so I think my due date might be a little early. Everyone's cycle is different

The first day of my last period was 14th March, 40 weeks for me is 19th December but the hospital said my due date is the 15th. When I work out how many weeks/days I am I go by the 19th as I don't really understand how it could be earlier. I feel your confusion! X

First day of last period is 5th March my due date is 10th December xx

Due dates are a myth anyway so I wouldn’t get too focused on that date. Only 4% of babies are born on their due date. There is around a four week period that your baby could be born. In other countries they give due windows rather than due dates, which is probably a better system because they can’t really predict the exact day, or even the exact week. It depends on the length of your cycle, when you ovulate and other factors. Some people tend to be early, some tend to be late, others around their due date, it just depends. The way they calculate due dates is really out of date and it only takes into consideration people that have a 28 day cycle and who ovulate on day 14, it was also only based on Caucasian women, so it isn’t representative at all.

Thank you lovelies, this helps a bit x

First day of last period 6th March due 7th December

@Henrietta Hmm that’s interesting Henrietta, you’re one day earlier than me. Makes me feel a bit more reassured. I’m guessing your cycle was normally 24/25 days?

Yes- my original due date was 11th December but when baby was first measured during a scan they changed it to 7th so I’m guessing it relates to how baby is measuring! Minefield to me 🤣🤣 xx

@Henrietta oh mine was originally the 12th ( due to calculations done from the first day of period) and then they changed it to the 8th. Bizarre

It’s all v strange isn’t it! I’m sure each practitioner is different!!

LMP 18th March, due date 30th December 🤷‍♀️ Just looked back at my EPU notes, my original due date was estimated 23rd Dec based on LMP but I guess I ovulated late

Don’t worry about it too much apart from what it may mean in terms of conversations around induction. Anyone due in late December has more to be concerned about because there will be high levels of induction due to staff not working over Christmas. And whatever your estimated due date is, add a week anyway as 85% of UK babies come after 40 weeks and the most common date is 41+2 for first babies.

23rd feb LMP, ovulated 11th march, due 1st dec.

So my first day of my last period was 7th march Due date is 17th December I’m 30+1 weeks 💙

I’m measuring a week behind with twins so I either ovulated later or they are just small x

First day of my last period was 10th March. My original due date based on that (and also measurements on an early scan I ended up having at epu) was 15th Dec. When I had my 12 week scan they said i was 13 weeks and moved my date to 9th Dec which I have a feeling is probably a bit early. I wondered if my baby just had a but of a growth spurt in the 3 weeks between scans 😂 hopefully it won't really matter anyway.

LMP 16/03 Weeks pregnant 29+ 5 Due date (based on dating scan) 20/12

@Lauren my LMP 18th Match too and was originally told Due date was 23rd Dec from midwife - Hospital then changed it to 20th Dec after 20week scan 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Jayne ohhh I got given 30th December at the 12 week scan, they didn't say anything on the 20 week scan about it 😅 x

@Lauren so strange! It baffles me how they can change dates! Tbf not many babies are born on due dates anyway 🤷🏼‍♀️ How are you finding pregnancy?

Honestly, i could not tell you when my last period was because before i fell pregnant i hadn’t had a period for over 4 months. Then, miraculously we fell pregnant. My estimated due date is 8/12 but thats only estimate. You could have baby from anywhen around 36 weeks. Not saying you will, but lots of women can go from that point to 42 weeks (42 being very unlikely as they don’t usually let you go that far) Xx

I feel the same , the first day of my last period was the 28th February , yet I’m due the 12th December ?
