Yes! My last period was January 31st making me 6 weeks tomorrow. Even though I ovulated 4 days late meaning by ovulation I am 5w3d, my OB won’t change my EDD unless I measure more than a week off at my dating scan. Obviously it can vary by location and OB but this is how I’ve seen a majority of OB date pregnancies. 🥰

This makes sense, but sometimes it makes more sense to calculate by ovulation date. If, for example, you ovulated on day 28 (due to PCOS or other) then by using your period date it would make you 6 weeks pregnant when you found out, when actually it's only 2 weeks since conception. By this measure, an "8 week scan" might be very disappointing when you realize you're only technically 6 weeks pregnant. I hope that makes sense, I just mean for some people who's ovulation is a long way out from the 14 day mark, it may be more helpful to calculate from ovulation date and add 2 weeks
And if you're using an app such as Pregnancy+, the pictures and sizes of the foetus week by week will be more accurate if calculated by ovulation+2 weeks date rather than last period x

@Rose again, I’m going off what the doctors use. Unless you are more than a week off, your doctor won’t change the date.
@Ayesha you would technically be 4 weeks and 2 days! The doctors don’t care if you have short cycles, I have about 26 day cycles too! You’ll likely measure right on time or even a little ahead at your first scan!
@Ayesha I also found out that early! It’s just because we ovulate so early due to our short cycles. I’m 5 weeks and found out 3 weeks ago!

@Mackenzee Flo shows 5 weeks still as I have longer cycles. My dates for all my kids were always adjusted later by 3/4 weeks after first scan
So I'm thinking more of a November baby. I think 🤔

@Maria I would call your doctor and try to get in soon for a dating scan. Off your last period you’d be considered 10 weeks. But sounds like you ovulate really late due to a long cycle. Would be really hard to tell without a dating scan.
I have short cycles, like 25 days. So I ovulate early. I haven’t had my dating scan yet but I’m assuming I’ll be a few days a head.

@Maria wait, your last period was January 8th or February 8th? If you last period was January 8th with a 40 day cycle you period would have been due February 17th, but if your period was February 8th it would make more sense that your period is due in 5 days. If it was January it would put you at around 8 weeks but if it was February you would be about 3.5 weeks

@Leia lol, you're completely right. I had just found out and was all over the place. I'd changed Flo to pregnancy mode and it had calculated my last period into the pregnancy too. So first day of last period was 17th of Feb. According to the NHS calender I'll be due 27th of November 💜

I didn’t have a period as I had the coil up until a month ago so it’s really tricky for me to know how far along I am! I started feeling pregnant last week so I assume I’m around 4 weeks… anyone else had trouble knowing your cycle?
@Yasmine yes I know for a fact I had the “baby sex” 4 weeks ago yesterday . I only started feeling symptoms yesterday . My flo app says 6weeks + 4. ( since first day of my last period )
4 February was my last period clear blue says I am 2-3 weeks (last Wednesday)
@Tinashé you turned 6 weeks yesterday! Same as me!!! You always add 2 weeks to what that test tells you as well so right on track.

@Zakeyah you’d be 5 weeks tomorrow! It doesn’t matter when you ovulated when it comes to calculating how far along you are. You might measure a day or so behind or ahead depending on when you ovulated but your doctor won’t change the date unless it’s off more than a week!
