Is listening to music a hobby?

I say Yes! Loving these young girls in R&B genre right now. I let music go in mid 2000s, it felt as if it had changed so much and my ears werent digging it at all. Add in my husband and I had no common ground in our music tastes I began listening a lot of talk radio and whatever my younger sister or my kids had blasting. In 2019 I started filling silence from the beginnings of empty nest going on in home. At first I kept to my must haves Bob Marley, Lauren Hill, Mary J.. mostly 90s. Then Spotify would play other songs when album finished. Ella Mae. Kehlani. Jhene Akiko. SZA. Those women and others have made music a priority in my life. Given me solace during the bad and good times. Their lyrics, I connect to them even at 45. Something about the laid back vibes I get from beats behind them. Makes me happy, makes me bop in my chair or as I am walking. Takes mind off the silence in my home from children moving on. I can't find a hobby I enjoy (other than smoking weed) to save my life. I guess I'm sharing my renewed passion in music to say, find something - anything that brings a lightness to your day. Use all of your senses to find the special place for you and eases your mind. It may not come in form you'd expect.
